A special project of the Australian Library and Information Association
Power your mind! 12-18 May 2003
To acknowledge and support the beginning of a United Nations Literacy Decade, Australian Library Week 2003 is focussing on information literacy. ALIA recognises information literacy as a fundamental skill in 21st century Australia - a view reflected in our policy statements. Library and Information Week 2003 is an opportunity to reinforce the role of the library and information sector in building an 'information literate' society.
We are promoting information literacy as a way to power your mind - by accessing and using library and information services.
A range of promotional material is available to help get the message across. You can order your posters, bookmarks, postcards, balloons, tattoos and stickers now. A full catalogue of LIW merchandise was also included in the March 2003 issue of inCite.
National Library Technician's Day
Tuesday 13 May 2003 Library technicians throughout the nation are planning a range of activities - details will be added when available.
