Caloundra State High School will be celebrating with a resource centre display; 'catchy reading slogan' comp; Year 9 readers' cup comp; parent information literacy night: we call it 'operation assignment'; resource centre reflections newsletter for all staff (includes new resources/sites to surf/activities and coming events/humour etc); powering the mind professional development day, organised by our local SLAQ (School Lib Assoc Qld) branch - for t/ls and teachers, and teacher aides etc. We always promote our Resource Centre activities within the school and wider community. |

Southport Library Breakfast launch to kick off Australian Library and Information Week and to open Child's Play and Gold Coast Child's Play a photographic exhibition. The historical display on loan John Oxley Library, State Library of Queensland also includes a series of photographs drawn from the rich collection at the Gold City Council Local Studies Library. The photographs range from 1890 to 1965 and provide a unique insight into Gold Coast and Queensland culture and heritage through experiences of children growing up. 8:30am-9:30am.
