- Based in the University Library located at City West and Mawson Lakes campuses
- One (1) continuing and multiple eight (8) month fixed term contracts
- Salary range: $66,774 - $79,459 per annum pro rata (plus super)
About the Job
As the Reference Librarian, you will assist in supporting the teaching, learning and research activities of the University in various service areas of the Library. You will provide expertise in information discovery and resource use in response to complex enquiries and assist in the continuous improvement of services.
You will work closely with students, academic and professional staff along with other library staff. In addition, you will also liaise with parties external to the University including schools, TAFEs, other libraries and the community at large.
Skills and Experience
To be eligible for this position, you will have tertiary qualifications in Information Management along with knowledge of trends in digital information, digital preservation, scholarly publishing and social media. You will have capacity for assisting a diversity of clients with a demonstrated commitment to customer service as evident by your high interpersonal, communication and written skills.
It will be an advantage to have knowledge of the functions of a Library Management System along with knowledge of information sources and an ability in searching databases and other web based products and services.
