Librarian - Resource and Service Management HEO 5

Primary Job Purpose

To plan, manage and operate the library’s services and lead the resource acquisition and access processes and reporting. This role is also responsible for ensuring the day to day operations of the library are of a high standard and that staff adhere to policy and practices.

Special Requirements of the Position

Addressing the needs of library members, this role focuses on the provision of access to scholarly literature for all the library’s clients.
This position has responsibility for collection development and management within library guidelines. This includes managing relationships with vendors, updating library databases, maintaining budgetary, reporting and financial records, and selecting and purchasing library resources.
This role is also responsible for maintaining access to online resources and ensuring library clients have the appropriate tools and knowledge to conduct their research successfully.

Your experience with library systems and operations will be well utilised. Knowledge of acquisitions, online services, financial reporting or interlibrary loans practices will be advantageous.
