The Researcher Services team within Library and Learning Services bring this to life by providing scholarly publishing, data management and other research-related support to the University’s students, academics and researchers.

The opportunity
We are looking for a Library Research Specialist to support researchers in research data management, scholarly publishing strategies, bibliometrics, and other research- and data-related tasks. A key component of the role is maximising the opportunities offered by new technologies and tools to develop new research support services. Success in this role requires flexible thinking, a willingness to develop new skills and knowledge, and collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders across all campuses.

This position sits in the Library Academic Engagement team within Library and Learning Services and reports to the Coordinator, Researcher Services. 

The Library Research Specialist role provides leadership, service development, expertise and support for a range of research support activities. The position provides operational support to the development of new policies, procedures, resources and infrastructure for new research support services. The Library Research Specialist is expected to actively develop their own knowledge and skills in the growing area of research and share experiences with peers within Library and Learning Services, Griffith University and other Australian research organisations. The position works closely with the Discipline Librarians and with Library Academic Engagement staff to deliver expert library research services to our Higher Degree Research (HDR) students and our academic researchers.

This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus.

About you
To be successful within this role, you will be able to communicate dynamically with a wide range of stakeholders and be prepared to teach research skills. You should have a passion for assisting researchers in a changing higher education and research environment. In addition, you will be comfortable working both as part of a team and independently. Experience handling complex tasks and contributing to projects is essential. The ideal candidate will be an innovator who is comfortable interacting with academic staff and higher degree students.

Salary range
HEW Level 7: Salary $82,577 - $89,464 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $96,616 - $104,673 per annum.
