Manager, Collection Management

The Northern Territory Library is the premier public research library focused on the history and culture of the Northern Territory. With an extensive collection of NT related material the collection includes manuscripts, ephemera, photos, audio visual, digital and of course books.  The collection management team are dedicated and passionate about best practise in collection management and are future facing looking at the collection needs of physical and digital collections.

The Northern Territory Library is seeking a Manager, Collections Management to manage a team to ensure that library collections are effectively and efficiently acquired, catalogued, stored and preserved to appropriate professional standards. You will have extensive knowledge of best practise in collection acquisitions, cataloguing, processing, storage and preservation. You will have in depth knowledge and experience in metadata tools and standards and can monitor and report on collections expenditure. You will have demonstrated experience in project management and develop workflows to enable efficiencies within the team. 

Based in Darwin, the successful candidate will possess: strong digital literacy in a library system environment; knowledge of copyright and legal deposit legislation and experience in managing and motivating staff in a dynamic and changing environment.
