Methodist Ladies' College is one of Australia’s most respected and innovative schools, with over 2,000 students from our Early Learning Centre (MLC Kindle) to Year 12, including international students and boarders. This is an exciting opportunity for an academically qualified Archivist to collaborate with College and external stakeholders in leading and promoting the MLC Archives collection. Reporting into the Director of Advancement, the role encompasses communicating the rich history and traditions of the College through displays, contributions to publications and presentations along with collection, preservation, cataloguing and retrieval procedures. You will also be able to provide expert advice on records management and conservation.
The successful applicant will possess a relevant tertiary qualification in Archives and Records Management or a similar discipline. Strong technology skills, together with experience using records management software, are essential. Effective communication skills and the ability to work autonomously are also required.
This is an ongoing, part time position working (30 hours per week) with 10 weeks leave per annum.
