ALIA RARE BOOKS AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
TALK BY WENDY QUIHAMPTON on GLAM Peak and the Digital Access to Collections Project
What is GLAM Peak? It is the peak representative body from the galleries, libraries, archives and museums sectors in Australia.
The GLAM Peak Digital Access to Collections project involves an unprecedented and strongly growing level of collaboration between the GLAM peak bodies and other key stakeholders. Together, GLAM organisations are bringing together diverse collections from the smallest objects in regional Australia through to the largest internationally renowned collections. The project is innovative in unlocking content for co-creators and it will have unimaginable and unanticipated uses for entrepreneurs, artists and inventors.
Stage 2 of the Digital Access to Collections project is focussed on delivery of training in regional centres, with small grants to support participation and ongoing learning, to support non-metro institutions. The training is offered together with access to technology and software providers onsite to provide guidance and specialist advice.
Wendy Quihampton will talk about GLAM Peak, who they are and what their aims are, and provide insight into the Digital Access to Collections project and how it’s progressing.
