ALIA Hunter invites you to a screening of "Paywall: The Business of Scholarship"
The documentary examines the multi-billion dollar academic publishing model, and the need for open access to research publications. This is relevant to all academic library staff, and anyone interested in the open access movement.
The screening is from 2pm, then we will have an hour for discussion of the issues surrounding Open Access, just in time for Open Access Week!
The location is the same place as the unconference in 2017 - SRG40 Innovation Lab, on the ground floor where the SR building meets the GP building (Uni map). The nearest carpark is P5, and parking at the University is free on Saturdays.
Cost is free for ALIA members, $2 for non-members.
ALIA Hunter will supply tea and coffee. Please bring along some movie nibbles to share.
If you can't make it on the day but would like to participate in the discussion, please contact the organiser - a videoconferencing session can be established.
