A special 'white gloves' event - presented by the National Centre for Children's Literature (NCACL), and hosted at ALIA House.

Leigh Hobbs has created some of the most memorable characters in children’s books. Who doesn’t love the incorrigible Old Tom, Fiona the Pig and the much-travelled Mr Chicken? Join Ruth Nitschke as she takes you up close to the many items created by this award-winning author/illustrator that are held by NCACL. Max Brown will also discuss the various challenges of artwork conservation.

You will have the opportunity to examine a variety of original items from the NCACL collection.

White gloves will be provided to allow participants to handle unique material.

Refreshements will be served prior to the presentation, 4:15 - 4:30pm.

Numbers are strictly limited for this special event.

ALIA members can attend at a reduced rate.
