InterALIAThe newsletter of the ALIA SA Group: November 2003From the editorsThe year is winding up around us, whether we like it or not. How do we know? Because here in sunny Adelaide, the blue 'honour line' for the Christmas Pageant has been painted on the city streets. Once that blue line appears, we know we're on warp speed for Christmas. And it's submission time for ALIA National Office too, so the paperwork is flying (it's the closest we get to festive snow!) This month's diary dates will help you find out what everyone will be doing as the year wraps up - and where we will all be celebrating in the next few weeks. Mark those dates in now! Convenors Liz Walkley Hall and Kate Sinclair are about to take a well earned rest from their ALIA SA roles, as is indefatigable secretary Jenny Holbrook. Do you fancy a stint with the state group? Do you want a say in how ALIA SA develops in 2004 and beyond? Then we need you! If you would like to join the ALIA SA committee or would like to volunteer for a term as Convenor or Secretary, contact Kate or Liz (please remove '.nospam' from address). It's fun, honest! This month we bring you a wrap up of the successful ALIA SA Out of the Blue symposium and news of a new group formed to focus specifically on issues facing new graduates. We also talk to two brand new ALIA members, get a visitor's eye view of the new state library in action and dip our toe in 'GLAMorous' waters. |
