ALIA Information Literacy Forum fosters a common understanding of and advocates for information literacy within ALIA and the general community.

The Forum promotes professional development opportunities in information literacy for library and information services personnel.
This year it will continue to promote the library's role in developing information literacy, continuing involvement with the National Information Literacy Coalition, strategy planning for integration of information literacy into various sectors, and participation in relevant conferences. November 30 2006 the ALIA InfoLit Forum held a satellite event at the New Librarians Symposium held in Sydney. Further information about this event, including speaker presentations slides, are available here.

And the winner is.........!

Last year the ALIA Information Literacy Forum had its 6th birthday.

We celebrated with a 'mini makeover'. All ALIA members were invited to help rename the group.

We received over a dozen possible new names and selecting the winner was hard.

Congratulations to Suzanne Parker, from the University of Queensland, for providing the ALIA Information Literacy Forum with its new name – ALIA PATHWAYS!

Suzanne received a $50 booker voucher.

Stay tuned as we slowly move from the old to the new – over the next few weeks the group web site, elist and other systems will change to the new name.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the competition.
