The Forum promotes professional development opportunities in information literacy for library and information services personnel. November 30 2006 the ALIA InfoLit Forum held a satellite event at the New Librarians Symposium held in Sydney. Further information about this event, including speaker presentations slides, are available here. The ALIA Information Literacy Forum needs you! ALIA Information Literacy Forum fosters a common understanding of and advocates for information literacy within ALIA and the general community. The Forum promotes professional development opportunities in information literacy for library and information services personnel. We are looking for vibrant and dynamic people to join the Forum’s executive committee. The following office bearer positions are available:
Office bearers must be current members of ALIA - either a financial personal member or the formal representatives of a financial institutional member, or a formal nominee of an institutional member's appointed representative. Further information on the role and responsibilities of office bearers can be found at http://www.alia.org.au/members-only/governance/obg/office-bearers.html. Specific guidelines for the position of secretary and treasurer are also available If you have a passion for information literacy and would like to contribute then please send a 100 word statement identifying the position you are interested in. The statement should also include an overview of your experience and qualifications. All statements should be sent to the group Convenor Helen Partridge by Monday May 12.
