Call for feedback for proposed changes to the ALIA Constitution

The ALIA Board is seeking feedback regarding proposed changes to the length of term of office for the ALIA President as prescribed by the ALIA Constitution.

The consensus of the Board is that a one-year Presidential term is too short to enable the President to have a significant impact on the direction of the Association and to complete significant projects undertaken as part of the Presidential theme.

The Board is of the view that a two-year Presidential term would be the most suitable alternative.

This change was proposed following feedback received from several ALIA Members and advice from the peak associations body. The amendments will be presented for consideration and voting by ALIA Members at the 2019 Annual General Meeting on 21 May 2019.

Please provide feedback to aliaboard@alia.org.au by Friday 1 March.

For more information about the proposed changes.
