Skool Library Trek

Registrations are now open for the Skool Library Trek 2016 to be held on Monday 21st March.

The day-long event begins at 8.45 am with a presentation on the Skills audit for library technicians working in schools from Anne Girolami, Head of Information Services at Mercy College, Coburg.

Delegates will then board a mini-coach and head to the south eastern suburbs.

Their first stop will be Elwood Primary School Library

HLA Event VIC: PubMed Train the Trainer course

Cheryl Hamill ran a train the trainer course in PubMed in Brisbane as part of the ALIA HLA’s Professional Development day a few weeks back.

This was well received and hence Cheryl has kindly agreed to repeat it for Victorian librarians when she visits Melbourne in October.  There were comments from very experienced librarians that they had used PubMed for years but still learned some new material that they will find helpful.

ALIA LibTech Vic- Visit to the Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre

Please join us in a visit to the newly opened Kathleen Syme Library and Community Centre located at 251 Faraday Street, Carlton

Delegates will have the opportunity to hear about the library’s current and future directions in terms of collections, development, technology and community outreach.

Date and time: Sunday 27th September, 1.20pm for 1.30pm.
