ALIA Schools: Advocacy Matters!$!

Sue McKerracher will discuss the difference between marketing and selling, the benefits of advocacy and how to plan an advocacy campaign to promote a service or program in the school library. This will be followed by information about the School Library Coalition. In addition there will be two workshops. The first will be to unpack the Budget section of the revised policies and procedures manual and the second to identify how to advocate for an improvement within the school library budget.

It brings together ideas and concepts from role playing games, such as dungeons and dragons and escape the rooms, to offer a different way of viewing our professional identity and professional development.

Joint Association Event: Tour of the Wellington Centre - a new cultural hub in Sale


Wellington Shire Council in conjunction with the Australian Society of Archivists Victorian Branch, Australian Library and Information Association, and Museums Australia (Victoria) invite you to hear from speakers from the newly launched Wellington Centre, opened in January this year, and a tour of the Sale Public Library, Gippsland Art Gallery, Wellington Visitor Information Centre, and Council Chambers.
