Alternative Teen Services Librarians share ideas and resources about working with teens through this collaborative effort of two teen librarians who work for the Kansas City Public Library. It is a grassroots publication tool that they use to share ideas and resources with the public. It is not an authoritative source on working with teens. Instead, it is a look at their take on serving teens, what they think is important, and a collection of resources that other teen librarians can use such as program ideas, collections ideas, and general theory for serving teens.

Web sites for teenagers

Inside a Dog from The Centre for Youth Literature in Victoria. The site covers Australian and international books for teenagers. Currently, Nick Earls is the online writer-in-residence and visitors to the site can ask questions and follow Nick during May. Quizzes, news, first chapters of new and forthcoming books are also included. Visitors can write their own review, by following a series of prompts and win an iPod Nano by naming the dog.

Teen Reads reviews recent YA books. There are author interviews and competitions. It’s U.S. based, but there is an interview with Australian author Markus Zuzak.

The Source a gateway to youth information, programmes, services, resources and entertainment for young people between the ages of 12 and 25

Reach Out an award winning online youth suicide prevention service. Includes help, information and entertainment for young people.
