For those libraries planning the task of reopening, ALIA has created a strategic checklist which includes information on staff support, services that need to be phased in (or out), communications planning, and safety precautions. Update (December 2020): Please note that this checklist was created in May 2020 using the advice available at the time. Since then, goverrnment health officials have set their own safety requirements, which are specific to each state or territory, and are regularly changing. Whilst some people find it useful to refer back to the original document, we advise that you seek guidance from your local health authorities, and refer to your organisation's COVIDsafe plan, to ensure that your service meets the safety requirements of your state or territory.
