Playing for Keeps Webinar Session #1 of 3

Session 1: DnD and Roleplaying Games for Libraries and Library Outreach

Event Description

Librarians everywhere are increasingly called upon to find more effective ways to engage users. To teach information literacy without “Teaching”, to build a sense of acceptance and belonging in Libraries, to scaffold the development of inquiring young minds… If these challenges sound familiar to you, ALIA Queensland has developed a series of lunchtime webinars to help master the art of Gamification:

Session 1: DnD and Roleplaying Games for Libraries and Library Outreach (17 April, RSVP 15 April)
Session 2: Gamifying Learning and Literacy (24 April, RSVP 22 April)
Session 3: First 5 Forever – Play and Learning in the Early Years (1 May, RSVP 29 April)

Register for 1, 2 or all 3 webinars. The cost for each webinar is $15 (Members), $22.50 (Non-Members).

This registration page is ONLY for Session 1: DnD and Roleplaying Games for Libraries and Library Outreach.

If you would like to register for Session 2 instead, please click on Gamifying Learning and Literacy.

If you would like to register for Session 3 instead, please click on First 5 Forever - Play and Learning in the Early Years.

Session 1 Content

Dungeons and Dragons has seen a surge in popularity over the past few years, as have other roleplaying games. This session aims to look at how they can be implemented in libraries, what they do for library outreach, what lessons have been learnt along the way by the people implementing them, and most importantly: the difference role-playing games can make in your library.
