Stay Smart Online
Stay Smart Online is the Australia's Government's online safety and security website, designed to help everyone understand the risks and simple steps we can take to protect our personal and financial information online.
Each year, the Federal Government holds Stay Smart Online Week - which is happening in 2015 from 12 - 16 October.
The annual week is designed to engage and educate members of the community and business through various activities to raise awareness about online safety and security.
The Australian Library and Information Association is a Stay Smart Online partner. Partners work with the Federal Government to promote the Stay Smart Online messages and the annual Stay Smart Online Week.
Resources for Libraries
Libraries can get involved by providing security information to their users. The Federal Government publishes resources which libraries can use on this page.
There's a great list of security tips and the Australian Government encourages everyone to subscribe to the Australian Government's Stay Smart Online Alert Service which provides reliable information about recent data breaches, scams and other risks, and offers advice on avoiding potential threats to your IT devices.
Stay Smart Online encourages the community to share research outcomes and information relating to online safety and security through the Stay Smart Online Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels. Please use #StaySmartOnline hastag when sharing this content.
