Monash University Library aims to transform scholarship and inspire our users to equip themselves to change the world through their work, learning and research. The Library provides environments, programs, services and resources to enable our researchers and students to find, analyse, use, manage, communicate and create new knowledge to meet contemporary challenges. Our community is centred on the University’s more than 8,000 staff and 73,000 students, located on our campuses within Victoria and across the globe.
Monash University Library is one of Australia's leading academic libraries, with a reputation for technological innovation and a track record of collaboration and leadership in research and learning and scholarly communication. The Library comprises six branch libraries in Victoria with partner libraries in Malaysia and South Africa. Reflecting the faculties present on Clayton campus, Sir Louis Matheson Library has collection strengths in arts, business and economics, education and social sciences and houses a number of special collections, including the Rare Books Collection. In addition to its 3.1 million physical items, over half of which are located at Matheson Library, the Library provides more than 1.1 million electronic resources to Monash University staff and students to use anywhere, anytime.
