ALIA is raising funds for regional LIS professionals from Asia-Pacific to attend APLIC2018

Friday 10 November 2017, Canberra: APLIC crowdfunding campaign

As an ALIA Board initiative to support ALIA's international affairs program, we are launching this crowdfunding campaign. The campaign has been put together to form a bursary to send library and information service professionals from regional Asia-Pacific to the 2018 Asia-Pacific Library and Information Conference (APLIC), APLIC 2018 will be held at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre from 30 July – 2 August. For every $3,000 raised ALIA will be able to fly an attendee to the Gold Coast, accommodate them, and supply them with a small per diem to cover their expenses while they are at the Conference. In addition to this, ALIA will provide free registration to APLIC 2018 to every person funded through this campaign, valued at nearly $2,000.

APLIC 2018 provides the perfect opportunity to bring together library and information professionals from a range of sectors across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, to share their work in communities, schools and academia. This networking opportunity will be invaluable to the participants, with over 800 delegates attending.

Expressions of interest to take up any places funded by this campaign will be sought from libraries in regional Asia-Pacific. The number of successful applicants will depend on the amount of money raised by this campaign and the final choice of participants will be at the discretion of ALIA.
