ALIA Board 2019 election nominees

ALIA is pleased to announce that Viv Barton, Service Lead - Libraries & Lifelong Learning, City of Stirling, has nominated and formally been declared elected to the position of Vice-President (President-elect).

Following the ALIA Annual General Meeting on 21 May 2019, Viv Barton will assume the role of Vice-President until 2020 when she will become the President for one year.

Nominations for the two general Director positions have been received from three ALIA Members. These Members are as follows:

  • Vicki Edmunds, Manager, Libraries & Customer Services, Blue Mountains City Council.
  • Kim Sherwin, Arup University Leader, Australasia Arup.
  • Rob Thomson, Product Specialist (Library) SkillsPoints TAFE NSW.

An independent election specialist will be appointed to manage the election process.  We anticipate voting will open on Monday 4 March 2019 and close on Friday 12 April.

Instructions for casting a vote will be emailed to all eligible Members by the election company.  Members without a registered email address will receive voting material by mail.

The successful candidates will take office at the ALIA Annual General meeting on Tuesday 21 May 2019. 

Only current financial members as of 5pm AEDT on Friday 11 January are eligible to participate in the election.
