Does your library have a MayDay plan in place?

As a founder member of Blue Shield Australia, the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is pleased to support MayDay, the month-long annual campaign promoting disaster preparedness for cultural institutions, heritage organisations, monuments and sites, in Australia and elsewhere around the world. There are two competitions that you can enter and free downloadable resources.

For 2019, there is a new MayDay logo, produced by ALIA’s graphic designer.

ALIA CEO Sue McKerracher said, 'The new logo is a bright, modern and eye-catching way to convey our message.

'MayDay is a good prompt for us all to take a fresh look at the risks facing our organisations from natural and manmade disasters. It’s a time to refresh our disaster management plans, learn from others’ experiences and build on our resilience as a result'.
