The ALIA DH Special Interest Group aims to explore the intersection of Digital Humanities and the library sector by sharing knowledge and developing skills.
The first national professional development activity for the year will be an online forum to be held from Tuesday 29 April until Thursday 8 May. The topic is: AITSL Standards: teacher librarian practice.
Tuesday 20 May - National Library Technicians' Day - this day provides the opportunity for library technicians to promote ALIA, the profession, and their role in libraries and to celebrate their many achievements.
Monday 19 May - Information and Research Day and Australia's Favourite Library - Information and Research Day, the announcement of Australia’s Favourite Library and the launch of Library and Information Week.
Next year on Friday September 19th Health Libraries Inc. and ALIA Health Libraries Australia will be having a combined PD Day/Conference at the iconic State Library of Victoria.

LARK (Library Applied Research Kollektive) fosters evidence-based practice and applied research in library and information studies. We discuss research-related issues and welcome members of ALIA and other professional associations with similar interests.
National Simultaneous Storytime is an important annual campaign that aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books. Now in its 14th successful year it is a colourful, vibrant and fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using an Australian children's book that explores age appropriate themes and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Grades 1 to 6.
